FAQ: HEADSHOTS FOR ACTORS
WHAT CONSTITUTES 'a look' / 'Wardrobe Change' ?
In Los Angeles a change of clothes is called 'A look'. For the purposes of my sessions 1 outfit / wardrobe change is 'a look'.
I don't charge extra if you take off a jacket half way through your look or if you take glasses on/off.
In London we call this a 'Wardrobe Change' - the above applies to my London actor clients.
WHAT DO I WEAR ?
You'll receive a PDF info pack when booking a session with full details on what to bring, but make sure your clothes are clean, pressed and are preferably brand new. If in doubt, buy new and keep the labels on, then return them the next day!
HAIR AND MAKE UP ?
I cannot stress enough the importance of getting a MUA when getting your headshots done. The market is very competitive and you need to be one-step ahead of the pack. Guys can sometimes get away with it, but on the whole EVERYONE should have some professional MUA look over them before going in front of the studio lights.
I have a selection of great MUA's that I use in London and LA. Please pay them on the day of your session. Cash, Venmo or Paypal.
HOW DO YOU SHOOT ?
My studio sessions use both studio flash and daylight. Daylight is great for the "LA look" / commercial world and studio light is perfect for the theatrical headshot and if the weather is bad (London!) I aim to give you a great selection so you can market yourself in the best possible way. In a typical session I take between 300-500 images. After the session they are edited down to 100-200 'of-the-best' and you then choose your favourites to be retouched.
HOW LONG IS A SHOOT ?
If you have booked hair and make-up then usually between 3-5 hours depending on looks. Some sessions are quicker but it all depends on wardrobe changes, make-up and how relaxed you are in front of the camera.
HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION ?
Please check the calendar and then book using the contact form.
I usually book clients 2 weeks in advance. I will usually ask for two dates that work for you, so I can fit you into the calendar. Last minute sessions are sometimes available so keep your eye on my calendar.

A deposit is required when shooting. PLEASE NOTE: your deposit is non-refundable (see below).
FLAKES / NO SHOWS / CANCELATIONS
Please treat the session like a professional appointment - book the time off, tell your managers/agents and punctual to my session.
However, I do understand showbiz is a fickle beast and things change last minute, so if you need to move your session then I need 72hrs notice minimum. I will then move you to different date and you won't lose your deposit.
Anything outside of my policy, I'm sorry but you will lose your deposit. There are no exceptions.
After your deposit you pay your remaining balance on the day of the shoot. I prefer PayPal, Venmo, or Cash.
HOW DO I GET MY PHOTOS ?
Your photos are edited within 48hrs and uploaded as PROOFS (thumbnails) to an online gallery for you to view, share and choose. After you choose your favourites I then retouch them. All photos come on a download within 7 days.
RETOUCHING - what do you do ?
Retouching is essential with digital photography and I spend a lot of time making your photos look clean, tidy and colour perfect. What that boils down to is, skin being cleaned, stray hairs removed, eyes brightened and sharpened and your colours being balanced and Please note: I don't airbrush you into oblivion, as you need to look like you when you turn up to the audition but I still make you look fabulous!
